One of our crew from Savannah, GA did the entire loop minus the handle. Road a good section of the loop back in April starting in Charleston, SC but had to cut off the FL/Sand box section. We're looking to hit the trail Sept 1 and ride for about 10 days. And if no one else has offered up a ride report yet, then we may have one coming in September. I've ridden a bit in the Jefferson and George Washington NF lands and done a fair bit of riding up through PA including the Seven Mountains area, and farther west - in the Allegheny trail systems. We're a group of 4 primarily based in Georgia that over the past few years has done the entire TAT and a ride last year from the Smokys to NY stitching together tracks from multiple sources. We were focused on an Alaska ride this year but our schedule keeps getting pushed back to the point that now we feel that by the time we could get there that we've missed the window. Maybe you could add this as a bypass the next time you update (or maybe it has since been verified open, again). If the road is still closed, the best bypass looks like the one to the south.Īnyway, I went way around to the south, which killed a lot of time, but later noticed a better bypass would be to just follow Burkes Garden Rd on north to its intersection with Back/Gose Mill Rd, if traveling north. The vertical trench is at the County Line, which is EAST of the intersection of Gose Mill Rd and the SEAT route. However its placement at the beginning of a public? road rendered it somewhat unbelievable.Įdit: THE BYPASS I ADDRESS, BELOW, WILL NOT WORK. A good trials rider could probably get past, or a couple hours work with a shovel would do the trick, but when I got back to Burkes Garden Rd, I noticed a smaller sign under the one that said something like "Warning Road Closed Ahead. The track between Burkes Garden Rd and Back Rd (AKA Gose Mill Rd) was blocked by a deep ditch, at the county line. I do have one closure to note, which I mentioned to Chip when I rode the TET, back in 2015.
